09 Apr Planning permission: Harrow
Planning Permission has been granted for 25 flats in North London, Harrow on the site of the former public house St. George IV. The site is located adjacent to the Pinner Conservation Area and the Network Rail Overground which forms a strong edge.
The proposed development will create a mixed-use scheme with a commercial unit at ground floor and a mix of 1- and 2 bed units above. The river Pinn and the surroundings to the rear will offer a large amenity space of 500 m2 plus additional private balconies.
A south facing green feature wall over the fourth and fifth storeys will attract visual interest along Marsh Road. The development will provide a green roof and photovoltaics as part of code level 4.
The proposed brick building is sympathetic in scale, height and façade rhythm to the adjoining property and steps up to 5 storeys to the network rail site to create a strong landmark.
